November was a stellar month for Nicole Belge of Pompey. She began her new career in cosmetology by opening her own business in Manlius: Tr (c) Chic Nails.
"I really love just talking to everybody," she said about her patrons. "There's a lot of one on one. I really like that."
Belge used to work in the restaurant industry before staying home to raise her three boys. Now, Belge offers pedicures, manicures and nail enhancements in her small and inviting outfit located at Manlius Mart Plaza. She earned her certification just over a year ago.
"Being that I'm new and I just went to school -- when I opened this, I crazily did not have a clientele," she said. "I'm trying to let people know that I'm here."
Belge participated in 93Q's Amy Robbins' Slumber Party earlier this year, and teams up with CLIC doing events for kids from time to time.
She provides special services such as hot stone massage, aromatherapy, paraffin treatment, acrylics and gels. Party packages are available and can be held in your home or in her salon -- ideal for bachelorette parties, proms, weddings or just hanging out with the girls.
"It's nice to take a little time for your self," she said.
Every other Thursday, Belge plans to extend her regular hours for a special night of "Fingernails and Cocktails." Hor d'oeuvres will be served and chair massages will be on offer. For more information, contact Belge at 692-4191.
