There's a new bar in town.
Sammy Malones, which opened on July 3, is located above the Bluewater Grill on Oswego Street and overlooks the Seneca River. The bar, owned by Tom and Melaine Taylor, offers customers a cozy atmosphere, scenic view and excellent service.
We have a great staff which is very personable, Taylor said.
Sammy Malones has a large selection of draft beer, along with 24 different bottled beers and an assortment of different wines. The bar also plans to add liquor to its menu in the near future.
Sirius satellite radio and a jukebox provide musical entertainment and patrons can enjoy watching various sporting games on the three high definition televisions within the establishment.
Not just a bar, Sammy Malone's offers what is said to be the best prime roast beef sandwich in Bville. Because of the size of the bar, the menu is limited to the sandwich, along with soup, salad and chips at an affordable cost.
The Taylors, who also own the Lake Effect, purchased the space where the Banana Bay ice cream shop was formerly located. The bar is open seven days a week year round and offers outdoor seating in the front of the bar, along with a patio overlooking the river. Patrons can enjoy non-alcoholic beverages and food at the front side walk tables. Smoking is also allowed at these tables.
It's a great space and a great location, Taylor said. It has a laid back atmosphere with the ability to grow."
