Lee National Denim Day is an effort to raise money for the fight against breast cancer.
Since its inception in 1996, Lee National Denim Day has adhered to a simple philosophy: one day, one cause, one cure. To participate, companies allow employees to wear denim to work the first Friday in October in exchange for a $5 contribution, which goes toward the fight against breast cancer. In the first year, more than 3,000 companies signed up to participate, raising $1.4 million dollars for the fight against breast cancer. Response to Lee National Denim Day has increased annually and its growth continues.
