A constant stream of melted chocolate and delicious foods to dip -- these are just two of the many reasons you'll want to attend the second annual fundraiser sponsored by the Community Learning and Information Center of Manlius (CLIC).
CLIC is a not-for-profit organization designed to bring people of all ages together for fun, educational opportunities in one setting. Programs provided include a low-cost tutoring center, seminars, panel discussions, and group meetings that touch on topics such as investment, health and language. In essence, it's a place for community members with common interests to gather.
About 50 people attended the "Chocolate Extravaganza" last year, said Bonnie McCabe, executive director. This year, she anticipates even more supporters to take part in CLIC's biggest fundraiser of the year.
The event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday Oct. 28 at the Cavalry Club located on Troop K Road in Manlius. Ted and Amy from 93Q will be the masters of ceremonies, hosting a live auction and taking requests not only for music, but also to record their own voices onto your cell phone.
A telescope, rocking chair, Stickley clock, quilts, ski passes and homemade items will be up for bid during a silent auction as well.
Tickets are $10 presale and $15 at the door. Proceeds will benefit CLIC and its year-round programs. For more information, contact 682-4200.
