Spartans top J-D for OHSL Freedom track title

Justiz also teamed with Vincent Graham, Jon Boll and Mark Smith to win the 4x100 relay in 45.21 seconds. J-D was also third in the 4x400 (3:45.92) and fourth in the 4x800 (8:56.85).

Just as that was going on, Adam Tyson was prevailing in the pole vault as the only athlete to clear 11 feet 6 inches.

Graham took second place (53.26 seconds) to Groesbeck in the 400, and also was second in the triple jump by going 39 feet 11 1/2 inches as David Salbert (39 feet 2 inches) was third. Smith was fourth (11.87 seconds) in the 100.

Elsewhere, Andrew Ladew ran to fourth in the 3,000 steeplechase (12:11.10) as Kyle Whalen (12:18.16) finished fifth. James Kogut got fifth in the discus (111 feet 5 inches) , as Ben Kier gained fifth in the 3,200 (10:44.68) and Jack Knych took fifth (4:47.56) in the mile.

Mychal Weekes cleared 5 feet 4 inches for fifth place in the high jump and was sixth in the discus, tossing it 106 feet 1 inch. Max Smith ran to sixth in the 800 (2:12.15) and Boll earned a sixth-place clocking of 56.24 seconds in the 400.
