Diggin' for green in DeWitt

"We're very pleased with the cooperation we've got from the DeWitt Rotary," said Dr. Vince Sportelli, chairman of parks and recreation. "It's a great development and project for us, to maintain green space and recreational facilities in DeWitt and to capture as much lands [as] possible."

The park will stay open as best as it can while undergoing construction, Ball said.

Remembrance Sponsor - $100: Remembrance sponsors are identified with an engraved brick displayed along the Butternut Creek Trail.

Mission Sponsor - $1,000: Mission sponsors are identified with permanent signage placed along the Butternut Creek Trail.

Bench Sponsor - $2,500: A permanently placed park bench and plaque will identify bench sponsors along the Butternut Creek Trail.

Pilot sponsor: Varied levels beginning at $15,000. The Butternut Creek Pilot Sponsorships are limited. Pilot sponsors will be identified at one of the following locations:

Trail head and park identification sign on either East Genesee Street or Kinne Road;

Wetland viewing point;

Fishing area and canoe launch; or

Five additional trails off main trail.
