B'ville: Mulligans - For golfers and non-golfers alike

Radisson Greens has a new addition.

Mulligans, a golf-themed restaurant that serves everything from chocolate chip cookies for snacks, cheese steak sandwiches for lunch and a New York strip steak with sauteed mushrooms for dinner, is newly renovated and ready to serve.

Restaurant owner Jim Brown took over the former facility, which didn't serve much more than hamburgers and hot dogs, and transformed it with a rustic appeal and relaxing atmosphere.

"Prior to opening Mulligans, there wasn't much of a food option here," Brown said.

With the new bar and expanded eating area, Brown hopes to attract non-golfers as well as golfers to the facility, which happens to be the only restaurant in Radisson.

"The community thinks they have to golf here in order to eat," Brown said. "The message we are trying to send is this is a restaurant first."

Although the golf course closes in the off season, Brown hopes to keep the restaurant open yearlong and to allow guests to utilize the fireplace in the winter months.

Tourneys and banquets

Mulligans can accommodate up to 175 people for banquets, whether for tournaments, weddings, showers or business meetings. A large window in the banquet room provides a beautiful view of the course and outdoors.

The banquet menu boasts a variety of options including a steak dinner, chicken parmesan dinner, barbecue buffet, Italian buffet and clam bakes. There is also a deli buffet and full breakfast buffet for all day events.

Mulligans pub menu is now available. The restaurant menu will be available mid-May. Mulligans is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.

To encourage residents to check out Mulligans, Radisson Greens (a public course) is offering a new Radisson Social membership for $50 that includes two 18-hole rounds of golf any Friday, Saturday or Sunday and 10 percent off the pro shop and restaurant all year.

"We are trying to regain the social membership for the club that has been missing for many years," said Dave Ferris, the PGA golf pro and manager at Radisson Greens. "We want to get people from the community back and let them know we are here for them."
