The 5th annual JCC Battle of the Bands is right around the corner. This year's show will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 in the Jewish Community Center's Schayes Family Gymnasium. Whether you are in a band looking for a venue, you want to hear the local talent, or you want to help support a local event, the JCC's Battle of the Bands is the place to get it all.
The Battle of the Bands has grown each year it has been held at the JCC, and the talent of the groups involved has grown right with it. In past years, there has been an eclectic mix of genres, including rock, ska, jazz, funk, and even a jugband. Last year there was a tie for first place between Drawn to Scale and Melissa Ahern. Tickets are available at the door for the price of $6, or $9 for V.I.P. viewing. Come on out and support your friends as they take the stage.
For those of you coming out to perform in the concert, the grand prize for winning the event is $200 in cash.
Volunteers are needed to help work during the event. Anyone who volunteers will receive free entrance to the concert and a coupon for a free drink. Duties will include serving food and selling tickets to the event. Many volunteers in the past have used these hours towards community service projects at local schools.
