B'ville: Seneca Federal offers convenience

As of Saturday, Seneca Federal Savings will offer customers more convenience with Saturday hours.

According to President and CEO Chris Demong who works out of the Baldwinsville main branch, the combination of competition being open on Saturdays and a recent customer survey that indicated a desire for Saturday hours led Seneca Federal Savings to offer the weekend convenience.

"Saturday hours give customers with nine to five jobs better access to banking services," Demong said. "It gives them access to the services they need."

Customers can enjoy both drive in and lobby services including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing and account transfers. Customers can access safe deposit boxes and, new customers included, can also open new accounts and apply for consumer and car loans.

That's not the only thing that's new for Seneca Federal Savings. In July, all three branches will also begin to offer online banking so customers can access accounts and pay bills online. As with Saturday hours, the online service will be offered because customers wanted it.

Seneca Federal Savings customers will be able to access account information online and, through a service provided by an outside company, customers can also pay bills such as National Grid, telephone, credit cards, even loans at other banks right from their home computer. Bills will be electronically submitted and the option of recurring payments will also be available.

Seneca Federal currently serves 18,000 customers across Central New York.

As with any day, Seneca Federal Savings will not be open on holidays that fall on Saturdays such as July 4, Veterans Day, Christmas and New Year's Day.
