DeWitt: Shoppingtown gets stripped

Highlights of the hybrid strip mall

Pedestrian plazas and walkways blend the new outdoor surroundings with the existing enclosed shopping center;

Seasonal exterior seating areas and rich landscaping will be provided, creating comfortable gathering places;

Brick and stone architecture in neutral tones, with subtle accent colors that complements the existing structure;

Redesign of the connection between the shopping center and the lifestyle addition, with glass, brick and stone accents;

New signage that provides enhanced pedestrian and vehicular navigation;

Up to nine new specialty shops and restaurants; and

Valet parking, a new parking field along Erie Boulevard and a new traffic signal and intersection at Erie Boulevard and Route 5.
