B'ville: Snow day make-up

As of March 6, the Baldwinsville School District had used four allotted snow days, which do not have to be made up, plus a fifth day, which will have to be made up.

If the district should have any more snow days/emergency closings, those days will have to be made up as well. The district's plan for making these days up is as follows:

Friday March 23, originally scheduled to be a day off for students because it was to be a professional development day for staff, will now be a full day of attendance for students in first through 12th grades. It will be a half-day of school for kindergarteners who will attend school either in the morning or in the afternoon as they normally do.

Should there be any more school closings before the week of spring break (the week of April 9), days will be made up during the week of spring break, working backwards from the end of the week. For example, if there's one more snow day, students will be required to attend school on Friday April 13. If there are two more snow days, students will be required to attend school on Thursday April 12 and Friday April 13.

Updated information on snow days will be posted on the district web site at bville.org. Look for a link to snow day information on the home page. The district will also send home information with students, should it be necessary to make up any more snow days.

Attention kindergarten parents

Please note, a letter will be sent home to all kindergarten parents to explain their child's schedule. In addition to the five school closings, the district had to cancel the afternoon kindergarten due to weather and the morning kindergarten was canceled due to a two-hour delay. This has impacted the number of attendance days for Baldwinsville's kindergarten students only.

March 23 FBI presentation canceled

The March 23 FBI presentation, "Innocent Images: Internet-based Child Sexual Exploitation," to be held at Baker High School in the Baldwinsville School District, has been canceled. The presentation was to be part of the school district's professional development day. Because of snow days, the district has had to change the day to a full day of school for all students and staff.

At this time it has not been determined if the FBI presentation will be rescheduled for a future date.
