Bishop Ludden located at 815 Fay Road will present the musical "Babes in Arms" at 7 p.m. on March 8, 9 and 10 in the school gymnasium. Admission is $10 adults, $8 students and $8 senior citizens. Modestly priced refreshments will be available.
The performance is about a group of teenagers who are left without adult supervision when their folks hit the vaudeville summer circuit, and the local sheriff is determined to send the loafers to a work farm. But the determined kids talk the sheriff into a two-week reprieve, just enough time to produce their own show and prove themselves. The son of a wealthy Southerner agrees to bankroll the production but only on the condition that one of the tap dancer does not appear in the show. The other kids are outraged, but of course the show does go on. The plot develops in a succession of reconciliation and romance.
