The Arts Caf (c) at the Earlville Opera House will be opening its spring season with singer-songwriter, Mark Erelli at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 3. Erelli is an engaging folk artist who makes the occasional foray into pop with songs that you will find yourself humming the next day. He proudly wears his heart on his sleeve, weaving tales of honest and true passion. It is this passion that captures audiences and keeps them coming back.
Erelli released his debut album in 1999 and has since produced five records, the latest in 2006 is titled Hope & Other Casualties. Over the years he has developed a successful balance of emotion and awareness, all while commenting on the surrounding world. His songs fluctuate between personal and political with ease. Complementing his lyrics are folk and rock arrangements with catchy and inspiring melodies. It is no wonder that Erelli is being recognized as a standout young musician.
Tickets to the performance are $15 for the general public; $13 for EOH members and $10 for students. The Caf (c) will have reserved seating for this performance, and seating is limited to about 50, so call early to reserve a seat.
