Saturday's fishing derby drew 47 children to the shore of the Seneca River in Mercer Park. Connor Derrigo was the first participant to catch a fish, winning the prize of first fish caught and Matthew King won the last fish caught prize. Matthew McDonald (pictured) won the top prize when he caught the largest fish (9 to 12 years old), a 20-inch small mouth bass. Taylor Hartman landed the largest fish in the 5- to 8-year-old category with a 10-inch fish. Sarah Forman (5 to 8 years old) and Liam Roberge (9 to 12 years old) reeled in the smallest fish at four inches and four and a half inches, respectively. Catherine Monica was busy catching eight fish for the most fish caught in the 5- to 8-year-old category and John Gibbs caught a whopping 14 fish landing the title of most fish caught for the 9- to 12-year-old category.
