Rick Fritcher, Solvay resident and owner of Kingsley's Family Diner in Manlius, was diagnosed with Melanoma in 2003. The cancer has progressed to Stage 4.
Fritcher, known as "Fritz," has already endured four surgical procedures as well as six months of chemotherapy; however, the chemotherapy had to be discontinued because it affected his liver.
A benefit will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25 at Lynchy's Tavern, 229 Charles Ave. in Solvay. There will be food, prizes, 50/50 raffle and drink specials. Cost for tickets in advance is $10; $15 at the door.
There is parking in the rear of the building, on-street parking (same side as the bar only) and in the Twin Trees parking lot on Avery Ave.
