"Swinging Sweet Cabaret"

Father Champlin's Guardian Angel Society will host the 6th Anniversary "Swinging Sweet Cabaret" from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Oncenter Grand Ballroom.

The evening begins with a pasta extravaganza and antipasto bar with background music by Mario DeSantis. At 9 p.m. a mouth watering chocolate fountain will be flowing and include favorite fruits and sweet treats for dipping. An array of the customary decadent desserts will follow after 10 p.m.

At 8:30 p.m. Mario DeSantis and his full orchestra, celebrating their 60th year of performances, with guest vocalists Maria DeSantis, Joe Whiting, Isreal Hagan and Keith Condon will provide music for dancing. Professional dancers from the Arthur Murray studio will offer a "swing dance lesson" at intermission. A dozen substantial door prizes will be distributed at the conclusion, including gift certificates at local restaurants and spas along with bottles of wine.

Tickets are $125 for two or $75 per person.

The Guardian Angel Society, starting its 10th anniversary, offers financial assistance for the education of youths from varied cultural, religious and economic backgrounds who attend the Cathedral Academy at Pompei as well as scholarship aid to alumni for their continuing quality education at Bishop Grimes, Bishop Ludden, or Christian Brothers Academy. The proceeds help sustain efforts, which have such a proven record of effectively helping more than 100 boys and girls each year have a better chance at life and of supporting more than 30 graduates who are continuing their education, including six at distinguished universities.
