Songs from Heart Land have won numerous awards, including the John Lennon

Songwriting Contest (country), The Great American Songwriting Competition (folk/country), and Best Traditional Folk Song in the Just Plain Folks Music Awards; and received a nomination for an Independent Music Award (bluegrass/country). His 2003 release, Coyote's Dream, was been nominated for Best Traditional Folk Album in the Just Plain Folks Music Awards, and the song, "Browning Mountain" received a Best Traditional Folk Song nomination. His latest CD The Back Fields was named Best Americana Album in the 2006 Just Plain Folks Music Awards. In his home state, Indianapolis Monthly magazine listed him in their year-end Best of Indy issue as their

singer-songwriter of choice.

Grimm has also remained active in the theater by writing music for stage plays. Local theatergoers will recall that he composed and performed the music for Syracuse Stage's production of "The Grapes of Wrath."
