Jim Delia is committed to outstanding quality and service.
In addition to building a successful and growing business in the heart of Baldwinsville, Delia's commitment and hard work have also earned him the prestigious recognition as Business Man of the Year, an honor bestowed upon him by the Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber honors a Baldwinsville businessperson during its annual holiday gala.
The chamber chose Delia for several reasons.
"Whether you've been a long time resident of Baldwinsville or are fairly new to the area, you will always be treated with the utmost kindness when you meet Jim Delia, owner of Pizza Man and the Pizza Man Pub," said Lee Wilder, executive director of the GBCC.
Having worked in the restaurant industry since he was 12 years old, Delia forfeited the social life of a normal high school student to help his father build the Country Inn restaurant on State Fair Boulevard in Lakeland (the establishment now known as Wally's Belvedere). In June of 1983, Delia opened the popular Pizza Man in Baldwinsville, an establishment that has won Taste of Baldwinsville honors for best original wings, best traditional pizza and the coveted people's choice award for pizza. Seeing as family originally got him into the business, Delia naturally receives a lot of support from his own family, which are his wife, Carol, and four sons, Jimmy, Matt, Luke and Tony, who are each important members of the Pizza Man team.
Always looking to improve, Delia's latest endeavor has been the renovation of an historical building in downtown Baldwinsville, which is home to Pizza Man. The changes made on the outside of the building nicely complement the existing ambience of Baldwinsville's business district. Acting as foreman, Delia has expanded his business on the inside to include the Pizza Man Pub, an establishment where residents can stop in to relax, enjoy a sporting game on one of the numerous televisions and sample a slice of his award winning pizza. The pub opened this past Sunday.
