3Town Supervisor Hank Chapman honored the Fayetteville-Manlius Girls Cross Country team with a proclamation for their first place victory in the Nike National Team Championship held Dec. 4 in Portland, Ore. Four runners from F-M finished in the top 19 places. This is the second year in a row the team has won this event. Certificates were given to each teammate.
3In a series of three consecutive public hearings, the board considered and approved new 2008 fire contracts with the villages of Minoa, Manlius and Fayetteville for fire and ambulance. The contracts provide coverage for the Minoa, Manlius and Fayetteville fire districts that exist outside the village boundaries.
The Minoa 2008 contract totals $659,449, with a 10.7-percent increase from last year's contract. The change in tax rate per $1,000 in assessed value is up 5 percent.
The Manlius 2008 contract totals $831,404, with a 2.5-percent decrease from 2007. The change in tax rate per $1,000 is down 8 percent.
The Fayetteville 2008 contract is $743,060 with a 5-percent increase from 2007. There is no change in tax rate.
3The town board's annual organizational meeting will take place Wednesday Jan. 2 at the Manlius Town Hall on Brooklea Drive in Fayetteville.
