Elbridge boy dies after fall

State Police are continuing their investigation into the death of a four-year-old child at 4752 Jordan Road in the Town of Elbridge Sunday.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 2, State police were called to the residence after an adult resident reported that the child had fallen inside the home. Further investigation by troopers at the scene revealed that the child and two other siblings, ages five and eight, had been left in the care of a 12-year-old sibling.

State Troopers are reporting that the four-year-old had apparently been standing on a headboard in a second story bedroom, and had reached outside a window for an icicle when he fell back into the bedroom and hit his head, sustaining injuries.

The child experienced difficulty breathing, and was transported to Auburn memorial Hospital by Marcellus Ambulance, where he later succumbed to his injuries. State Troopers are saying that the fall appears accidental and are continuing to investigate.
