If you're looking for a way to start lifting your spirits to get ready for the upcoming holiday season, then look no further than Appleseed Productions' current show, Sorry! Wrong Chimney!
David Tuttle (Matt Nilsen) is an entry level executive who can't quite afford the gift he really wants to get his wife, Samantha (Anne Freund), for their first Christmas as a married couple. So to supplement his salary, he takes an part-time job playing Santa at a local department store. In order to keep the gift a surprise, David tells Samantha he's working late at the office. He does, however, confide in Natalie (Rebecca Brown), Sam's best friend who lives across the hall.
Unfortunately for David, Samantha discovers that he has NOT been at the office and begins to suspect he's having an affair...with Natalie! She shares her suspicions with Natalie's husband, Bill (SALT Award nominee Gerrit Vander Werff, Jr.), a licensed psychiatrist, who doesn't really believe her, but let's Samantha convince him to hypnotize David into loving her again.
Add to the mix the notorius Santa burglar (SALT Award winner Rick Signorelli), his gun-toting fianc (c) (Erin Race), and a confused policeman (SALT Award nominee Dan Stevens), and you get a side-splitting farce, chock full of mistaken identities, chase scenes, and (of course) slamming doors!
Directed by Appleseed's SALT Award winning artistic director, Jon Wilson, this yuletide farce opened on Friday, Nov. 30 on Appleseed's Atonement Stage, 116 West Glen Ave. in Syracuse and continues its run through Saturday, Dec. 15; Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 students and seniors. For reservations and additional information, call the Appleseed box office at 492-9766. Tickets may also be purchased online at Appleseed Productions' website: appleseedproductions.org.
