Meet Beth Rawling from Camillus

Other activities are you involved with? I am an active participant with various St. Joseph's Church activities, including the Sacramental Team, the Jordan Facilitating Committee, adult education, and various other activities involving both youths and adults. I also do a lot of volunteer work for the Fairmount Community Library in whatever capacity they need, mainly the summer reading program and the Annual Fund Drive, etc. And, I am on the programs committee for the proposed Western Area YMCA.

What do you most enjoy? First and foremost, I enjoy being a mom. Next, I enjoy making a difference in other children's lives.

What's it been like working with the community? I've had the opportunity to see many boys and girls turn into fantastic young men and women.

What are your hobbies? Needlework, knitting, crafts andreading

If you could have lunch with three people, dead or alive, who would they be and why? My mother and sister-in-law because they left this earth too young and my brother because he means a great deal to me.

What is something people wouldn't know about you? I worked at the Herkimer Diamond Mines the summer of '70. My parents were avid rock collectors and turned a hobby of making jewelry and malachite and rhodochrosite cabochons into a business, once they retired.

How do you deal with tense situations? I take a deep breath, and tell myself two things: "Everything is just perfect" (and smile because tomorrow might be a better day) and "If life hands me a lemon, make lemonade. Then I call a friend.
