Camillus Police honored

Chief Thomas M. Winn takes great pride in reporting that the Town of Camillus Police Department has been awarded second place in the 2006 New York Law Enforcement Challenge Award, sponsored by the New York State Governor's Traffic Safety Committee.

The Camillus Police were one of only four law enforcement agencies in New York State that were recipient's of this prestigious award.

On Thursday April 19, Rotunno and Officer Joseph Clabaugh represented the Camillus Police Department at the 2007 Empire State Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Conference, held in Saratoga.

The Camillus Police Department was honored for its comprehensive application that reflected a highly effective traffic safety program that incorporates policy, enforcement, public information, education, recognition, training, and evaluation. In addition to winning at the state level, the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) will be forwarding the application to the International Association of Chiefs of Police for entry into the National Law Enforcement Challenge.
