WG Students of the Month

Hayley Hughes

Hayley Hughes is the daughter of Sheree Hughes and the late Kenneth Hughes. She has two older brothers, Rob and Sean, both graduates of West Genesee High School.

Academically, Hayley will have completed two college level courses and will receive a Regent's diploma with advanced designation. Hayley has been highly motivated and as a result has achieved and remained on the high honor roll throughout her middle and high school career. Hayley has also been a member of student senate and the National Honor Society.

Hayley spent her freshman and sophomore years playing on the girl's lacrosse teams. She was also chosen "Most Reliable" by her senior classmates. Hayley devotes most of her time participating in her church youth group and choir. She has spent the last three summers on various missions with trips to Schenectady, Manchester, N.H., and Biloxi, Miss. For hurricane relief. She will be going to Athens, Greece this summer on another mission trip with her church.

Hayley will be attending Syracuse University's Department of Transmedia. She will be majoring in art photography.

William Fuccillo, Jr.

William Fuccillo, Jr. is the son of William and Cynthia Fuccillo. William said his parents are the most important part of his life and that their inspiration and support has fueled everything he has accomplished.

William earned a place on the honor roll and enrolled in four college level courses over the last two years. He was recently selected business student of the month and represented West Genesee at the American Legion Boy's State Leadership and Government camp at Morrisville College. He has attended other seminars and camps and is treasurer of the Spanish Club and a model United Nations delegate. Recently he won the Best New Delegate award at the 2007 CNY Model United Nations Conference at Syracuse University. He also is a member of senior senate and respect and responsibility task force.
