Alternative Movies & Events will present the First Annual B-Cool Summertime Event 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 at the Palace Movie Theater, 2384 James St., Eastwood. Enjoy a full day of events including three classic Elvis movies, performances by national Elvis impersonator Sammy J and local belly dance troupe Belly Be-Bop. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to dress up and win prizes for the best Elvis costume.
To get further into the spirit of things, the Palace Diner will feature Elvis food favorites like fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, BBQ and more.
Bonus night events include Syracuse Unplugged with Jeff Jones and screening of Bubba Ho Tepp.
The event is being sponsored by Big Picture DVD in Liverpool and The Red Mill Inn in Baldwinsville.
Daytime events: $10 adults, $5 kids 11 and under; nighttime events: $5 per person, covers both music & movie.

11am: Tickle Me (1965) Elvis is a singing rodeo rider who drifts into an expensive dude ranch patronized by wealthy glamour girls.
12:45pm: Performances by Sammy J and Belly Be-Bop
1:30pm: Viva Las Vegas (1964) Lucky Jackson arrives in town with his car literally in tow ready for the first Las Vegas Grand Prix – once he has the money to buy an engine. Perhaps some singing will help?
3pm: Performances by Sammy J and Belly Be-Bop
4pm: Jailhouse Rock (1957) Vince Everett, while serving a one-year jail sentence, is introduced to the record business by his cellmate, a former country singer. Everett takes to it so well that he decides to become a singer when he gets out. But when he becomes a superstar, will his desire for fame and money cause him to forget the people who got him there?
5:30pm: Elvis trivia and costume contest

11pm: Syracuse Unplugged With Jeff Jones Jeff – Jeff will play some of his best known hits and maybe a few other surprise songs acoustically on stage.
He will then host the midnight movie and supply commentary. This will be our first of an ongoing series of Syracuse Unplugged music & movie events we are planning.
Midnight: Bubba Ho Tepp (2002) STARRING BRUCE CAMPBELL, Where we find Elvis (Bruce Campbell) as an elderly resident in an East Texas rest home, who switched identities with an Elvis impersonator years before his death, then missed his chance to switch back. Elvis teams up with Jack (Ossie Davis), a fellow nursing home resident who thinks that he is actually President John F. Kennedy, and the two valiant old codgers sally forth to battle an evil Egyptian entity who has chosen their long-term care facility as his happy hunting grounds.
